Blood Brother at Sundance Film Festival

Over the last three years the Blood Brother crew has spent countless hours filming, editing and promoting the documentary. This has been a sincere effort to help change the lives of a group of HIV orphaned children in India. Having started with nothing, we're now on our way to premiere at the great Sundance Film Festival! Premiering at Sundance is a serious honor not just for us but for the kids and everyone who contributed to make this a reality. We are humbled to say the least.

The truth is that going to Sundace comes with a heavy price financially and we need your help to make this happen!  It seems a selfish request to help us get to and through Sundance but we are not driven by selfish ambition. Of course it would help the careers of those involved in making Blood Brother, but this film has always been deeper than that.  The more success Blood Brother has, the more we can do to help the kids!  I need to remind you that we are not making a dime off of this film.  All of our profit will be going directly to Rocky and the kids.   

You trusted us with your money to create Blood Brother, now we ask you to trust us again to bring this film home!  We want and need you to continue to be a part of this journey.

We will be working with a publicist who has worked on many successful documentary films. This will require paying him/his team for their work. They will become part of our team positioning the film with the people who need to see it to help.

If we raise more than our goal, we will attempt to fly Rocky and his wife from India to Sundance to experience the festival and take part with any Q&A.

Any additional funding we will donate it to the HIV children at the orphanage.

If we do not reach our entire goal, we will still use them for the goals above, but we will pay for the rest out of our pockets.

The poster illustrated by our friend and talented artist, Courtney Miller, is available as two of the rewards for backing this. At the $100 mark you get the poster as a 9"x12" poster, with the option to have the director and/or producer sign it with a personalized message. At the $200 mark you will recieve a 24"x36" poster. 

Rocky's hardcover book I Was Always Beautiful is the raw and unedited documentation of Rocky's life in India and what the children have taught him. We published this in hopes that people could experience his journey through personal journal entries and full-page photographs. Something really special to us is that this entire film was funded through donations. This means we have no debt and no one to pay back for the film, allowing any/all monetary gain from the film to be used to help support the orphanage and the children with HIV in India, as well as supporting Rocky and his efforts. The funding we raised covered the necessities of the entire production. On top of that virtually everyone up to this point has worked for free - donating their time, talents and expertise towards the project. Because of this, we're set up to donate all our profits. When this all blows over, Rocky will still be in India so we want this to somehow support him and his efforts for a long time. We have no personal interest for financial gain in this project.

It's hard to describe how great of an impact Sundance will have on the future of Blood Brother and these kids. But what it all boils down to is that more exposure will lead to more opportunity to gain crucial support for the kids now and in the future. A publicist will generate an audience and interest for the film and bring awareness to the needs of Rocky and the kids. With your support, you would play a major role in keeping these kids healthy and alive.
