Turn Tragedy Into Love

Yousef is one of the victims of the Aurora Theatre shootings. He remains in critical, but stable condition with a bullet lodged in his brain.

With just a hour left in the campaign, I just want to thank everyone who contributed to help Yousef. Yousef is home with his family now, and only visits the hospital for therapy. Whether he is a good friend, or a complete stranger, the generosity everyone has shown is amazing.Yousef, we are all glad you are ok.

Update:

Yousef's sister was featured on 9News this evening (there is a link at the bottom of the page to view the video article). They doctors have informed the family that he may have to live the rest of his life with the bullet lodged in his brain as it appears that it is too risky to remove it. Yousef is still in critical condition, but he is showing signs of improvment! Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you all so much for your generous contributions.

Yousef is a victim of the terrible tragedy in Aurora, Colorado at the Cinema 16 theatre. At 16 years old, he took his little brother's best friend to opening night of Batman and was shot in the head during the rampage.

Yousef is currently in critical condition with a bullet and shrapnel lodged in his brain that the doctors are unable to remove.

My son Gage, who is 10, has never met Yousef but was touched by his story. He asked me if we could start a donation site like the one for the bus monitor to see if we could help his family.

One of my coworkers's daughter is very close to Yousef and this is what she wrote recently on her Facebook page:

By Mel Josey:

"I've always loved you and cared about you. But I've never had to pray for your survival. You never realize how much ONE person can impact and effect you life. Looking back I think of all the smiles and laughs we've shared. Everyone goes to you for brightness on a bad day. It's crazy how when someone you know, life's on the line, that the love grows fonder and the care you have gets stronger. You WILL be ok Yousef. I love you. We all love you."

Please help contribute to this dear family and help this sweet boy. Every little bit helps.
